People Photography From The Ground Up (Stage 1-2)

Few if any subjects are tackled more than a portrait. From a simple snap grabbed in a fraction of a second, too the long exposures the pioneers of photography used, people are simply a wonderful photographic subject to tackle in a number of ways. This workshop is for anyone with a digital SLR and designed to take everything from the ground up for those starting out, so they can create quality images quickly, with confidence and enjoy the process.

We start with an outline of basic ideas and how photographers over the generations have tackled the subject, then show the best settings to use in your camera regardless of brand. Natural light with various metering and exposure techniques, alongside reflectors and other accessories are demonstrated too show what a good light source this can be. A basic studio lighting arrangement that can be set-up easily and used for repeatable quality is then covered.

But this course is much more as we share techniques for lighting, posing, fill-in flash and even communication, so you get the best from a portrait of one or small group of people inside or out. Alongside the basics covered we also show more advanced options for those who wish to go that little bit further. And we particularly pay attention to utalising a home environment. This day could take years off of the learning curve but in an easy to follow and enjoyable structure.
