About Our Training…
Our aim is to help people progress in their photography no matter where they are starting from. We therefore structure courses for differing levels of knowledge, from those for beginners too advanced capabilities, for either the enthusiast or professional.
In addition, new and refreshed courses are also being worked upon. So please check from time to time on what may be new. By using an interesting and informative style that delegates enjoy, we try to make photography training fun, inspiring and informative.
Another important aspect is that we try and offer is a range of pricing options. These vary due to length, level of content, plus types of photography undertaken on many courses. Supporting notes are also incorporated on many workshops also. In addition we try hard to enable ongoing questions on the day and draw on our significant experiences ‘real world’ tested to provide answers that are useful on the personal level. We are fortunate that not only as a professional photographer have we encountered diverse imaging tasks and provided solutions to them over the years, but have also worked right at the heart of some camera and alongside other imaging companies behind the scenes in a technical sense. Our courses therefore reflect that knowledge, but in easy to understand and follow ways. We are not interested in telling you how to ‘talk’ a good photo, but to ‘take’ them.
And if you are still not sure, have a read of our ‘What People Say’ section, a small sample of the positive comments received: Read more.
A Stage 1 Event…
As a guide, an event the indicates that part or all of its content is a stage 1 course, will presume people may be taking their first steps in photography, or simply wishing to have a reminder of the basics from the ground up. We build things in an easy to follow step-by-step way, but may also touch base on some more advanced ideas once or twice. So if you are just starting your photography, and want a logical way to make some rapid progress, then stage 1 is ideal. We start at the beginning, then move from there. Nothing is presumed on my part, and no question being to silly or stupid as I remember being at this stage myself.
A Stage 2 Event…
Those attending a course with a Stage 2 designation in all or part of its content, will find it best with the basics of photography and their camera already understood. So the concepts of metering, exposure through apertures, shutter speeds, ISO, plus navigation around your cameras menus, that kind of thing. That said, we often have a quick recap on some things in order to get into the real content of the day. In practical terms however, this is the intermediate level, so if you are familair with photography and your camera, but want to turn that knowledge to greater picture quality, do consider this level. This is a good level for the enthusiast and professional. We may often introduce some aspects from a stage 3 course to make sure everyone can push themselves a little, but also see where that level could take them. A stage 2 course usually involves the chance for delegates to shoot their own imagery beyond just a ‘snap’.
A Stage 3 Event…
Then we have for advanced imaging needs, or those wishing to add to a professional portfolio, our Level 3 courses in full or part. We dont cover the basics, but get straight into maximising image quality by combining product features with tried and tested skills, plus bang up to date new concepts. Ideal for those intending to produce top draw professional quality either the enthusiast or pro shooter. These events are usually heavily focused on delegates shooting significant images on the day.
