The Lens
For all of the progress and wonderful technology in our cameras, some things have not changed. The lens is the start of the image quality chain, and an old statement still worth remembering today is that the image can only be technically as good as the lens and its quality in the first instance.
Apart from finding the right quality, there are many other aspects that we should consider. So over the next sections, I will share some knowledge based around the Nikkor (Nikon’s product name for most of their lenses) range, and third party optics also made with a Nikon ‘F’ mount fitting. As time passes we will add more and more to this section.
Even if you are not a Nikon system user you will find much of it useful in aiding your own lens choice for your preferred system.
